Random Quotations...the good, the bad, and the controversial...

Post your quotations and then respond to one another's quotes.
Here are the two I found:

"Reason transformed into prejudice is the worst form of prejudice, because reason is the only instrument for liberation from prejudice." ~ Allan Bloom

"All wars are civil wars, because all men are brothers." ~ Francois Fenelon

  9. Ok...so I have always heard this quote, about not going to bed mad, my whole life. I must say that I come from a place where I can't help but agree with the statement, though (as overstated as it might be). If you go to bed without completely talking something out, then you are bound to either wake up and waste another day with an unresolved conflict, or you are just going to attempt to "let it go," which I can't stand. Many people would argue that by walking away from a situation and coming back to it later you can gain perspective and add more to the discussion. I don't know. I guess maybe I just need that instant gratification of solving it and getting it over with. I ultimately just want to avoid "letting it all go" because I fear it will later lead to bigger problems.

  10. I have mixed opinions about this quote. I guess it totally depends on the argument. Too often, I've stayed up wasting precious sleeping time because I was ticked over something stupid (or the person I was arguing with was) to realize the next day how stupid it all was! Sometimes I think it is best just to walk away and cool off before trying to resolve an issue. This way you are also not saying things you will regret later!
